Great easy sew. I made a simple cotton version with velcroe and am considering a more elevated version in wool with buttons too.

    Wonderful woven wrap skirt!

I made a Tidal skirt for myself and loved it so much that I made one for my mom! Great as an everyday casual skirt as well as a swimsuit coverup. The pockets are so roomy, and the back hem detail adds a cute flair. Great pdf pattern tutorial and I also watched the sew-along on youtube. Would definitely recommend this pattern!

    Very Cute Skirt

I love this wrap-around skirt and have made 2 of them so far: one in the board short stretch woven from Green style and one in a lightweight denim. They are very cute and easy to wear. No worrying about them gaping open because both front pieces wrap completely to the opposite side. I made a couple of muslins to make sure it fit. I only had to alter the two side seams but there several seams you could use for fitting. The godets and A-line are very cute. I did add 4 inches to one and about 5 to the other, which I just added at the bottom. I think for more than that, though I would make sure I did not continue to add width to the bottom of the skirt. I will definitely make more of these.

    So flattering!

I haven’t worn skirts for years after menopausal weight gain as I found them most unflattering. This skirt proves me wrong! Thanks for the lovely pattern!

    My favorite piece of clothing.

Ok, I’ve got several problems. First: I am on a weight loss journey of 100 pounds, or losing half my weight.

Second, I live in Baja California Sur, México where it’s over 95 degrees from June to October. Add humidity. It’s difficult to find clothing that is attractive yet still comfortable.

Third, I am at best an advanced beginner sewist. Designs can be very complex and make me tear out my hair.

Last, I am nearing 60. I don’t feel ready to don the elderly lady garb, yet at the same time do not appreciate trying to appear as mutton dressed as lamb.

This skirt solved all those problems for me. I made it in linen from Fabrics Store, in mushroom. I’ve been able to adjust my sizing once already and am ready to make my second adjustment simply by moving the Velcro that is facing out to match up with my rapidly shrinking midsection. (Down over 40 pounds!) This skirt goes with everything. I’m very short so used the longer length in order to keep it modest. No one wants to see these thighs!

I followed Katrina’s video tutorial from Lifting Pins and Needles on YouTube. She’s my favorite and I always learn something from her. She helped me with the kick pleats or whatever they are called. I strongly recommend you do the same as her construction is a bit different from the included instructions and will give you a better garment in the end.

I’m sitting down to make another one now. Definitely recommend.

    Tidal skirt

I immediately thought this pattern would be perfect for covering up after an exercise class as I do not like being out and about in my leggings. I used board shorts fabric and while I love the pattern and the fit, I do not like how it looks on the back. The inserts make it stand out in a funny way but I don’t think it’s the pattern itself but rather the fabric. I do recommend this pattern and I’m hoping to try another in some drapier fabric.

    Great multi purpose skirt

Easy skirt to sew and it is SO versatile. A great swim cover up yet works for casual, dresss, and business. The godets in the back are adorable. I made a 16” length skirt and love the length. I’m 5”11”.
