Open Back Pullover Twisted Back Hack

Open Back Pullover Twisted Back Hack

Hi everyone!

I‘m Bianca from facebook.de/blanche.art.sewing and today I‘m showing you how to do a quick and easy twisted back hack for the open back pullover.

Let‘s get started!

First, you need your fabric and the Open Back Pullover sewing pattern. Print out both back versions - the open back and the solid back.

Now, line up the two back pieces and pin it together.

Next, draw a line from the top of the pullover to connect with the open back piece as shown on the picture.

Cut along the line you just drew. This will be your new Upper back piece and the twisted connection piece.

Now to prepare your twisted connection piece. Take the new Upper back piece you just cut and cut two on the fabric fold.

Take these two pieces right sides together and sew along the long edges with 3/8“ seam allowance. Flip the piece inside out so right sides facing out.

Now it’s time for the big pieces. Attach the front piece to the back piece by sewing the shoulder seams according to the instructions.

Now fold the neckline under by 3/8“ and coverstitch or use any stretch stitch on your regular sewing machine.

After this step is completed, you can attach the twisted back piece.

Take the upper back piece and twist it one time along the short ends. Pin the twisted piece in the middle (where the twist actually is) and pin each short side to the neckline. Pin it 3/8“ under the shoulder seam. Sew along the neckline to attach the twisted piece on each side. Then, with a small stitch length, sew a few stitches on the twist to make it stay in place.

Last but not least, attach the sleeves and the bottom seam according to the instructions of the Open Back Pullover! Voilà, there’s your Open Back Pullover.

Happy sewing!
