The Discovery Jacket is great for a variety of outdoor activities. It features a simple and functional design with tall collar, short collar, or hood options, along with large inner and zipped outer pockets. Finished measurements are included.
Suggested fabrics: outerwear fabrics with 0-20% horizontal stretch such as soft shell fleece, performance nylons, or fleece.
You will need:
- FABRIC: 2 1/2 to 3 yards (depending on size) for the Jacket.
- One #5 separating zipper (25" - 30") depending on size
- Fusible Interfacing
- Two (2) 7" long zippers for the pockets (closed at the end or zipper tape)
- 1" wide Fold Over Elastic (FOE)
- Double-sided pressure tape (Wonder Tape)

Fantastic jacket for keeping warm while working out. Easy sew. I’ve made 2 already! I highly recommend.
This is a great jacket pattern. I made the version without the hood in a beefy fleece and it was a perfect for layering on my trip to Iceland.
My separating zipper was a bit too long (my fault, not the pattern) and I didn't secure it well enough at the top, and the first time I zipped the jacket up, the slider came off. Fortunately, I got it back on and added a zipper stop, so "all's well that ends well."
I'd definitely recommend this pattern.

Easy make Jacket. Made in French Terry fabric.
I love my new jacket made in Luxe fleece, so fun to wear and it keeps me very warm.
The sizing was very confusing. What happened to normal sizing ? Size12 or 14 etc. My measurements had me making a size that was way too big, I had to cut it down. I was happy with the finished result once I'd fixed it.
