Waimea Bay is famous for up to 30-foot waves in the winter and is a popular place to watch some of the world’s best surfers. During the summer, the water calms considerably and is a great destination for swimming, snorkeling and diving.
These swim bottoms have a fun side pocket for stashing a pool key, hotel card or a tube of sunscreen.  There is a mid rise or high rise option along with two different waistbands including a standard elastic waistband OR a fold over yoga waistband.
This listing is for the Bottoms ONLY.  The Waimea Rash Guard can be found here.

Love this pattern! Made the high rise with yoga waistband which comes up very high in the back (like covering the bottom of my bra top high), but folded down it’s a good height. Still yet to test them in the water but so far so good! The pattern instructions were very clear and easy to follow.

I love the fit on me and am glad I branched out from my usual full coverage boy short styles. The fold over yoga waistband is great for when you can't decide between high or low rise, plus it is great for folding down over the pocket openings for added security.

What a perfect fit and is perfect for a day on the boat diving in and getting out over and over... it says put. Pockets for treasures large and small, it even fits a sunscreen bottle.

Not until these swim bottoms came around did I realize how handy it is to have pockets in a swim suit! I use both nose and ear plugs when I swim, and I’m able to just tuck both into my pocket when I’m done and not have to worry about forgetting or losing them. For myself, I did scoop out the bottoms to cover more of my rear, but for my daughter I left the pattern as is and she loves them. I love that the leg isn’t high cut and almost look more like boy-shorts. Very sporty! As for the sewing part, even with the addition of the pockets, it is not a difficult sew. It actually goes together relatively quickly and the instructions are very thorough.

Okay, so the thing is I normally despise sewing swim and all that elastic swim requires. But this pattern is SO EASY!!! I also love Sharon's hack from her blog to add ruching (search the fb group for that). I've used the pattern along with the Elevate crop top to make a whole mix and match set, and I will definitely use it again next summer!

Hands down, the pockets are the best feature to these bottoms! When we are at any body of water, my kids are finding rocks and things to hand me for safe keeping. These pockets hold them in! These bottoms are super comfy, even for the fluffy ladies like me! So much love!

While my daughter likes coverage when swimming, she still likes to be able to swim. It's great to have a bottoms design that stays put and looks great in or out of the water. And we can't say enough about the pockets! It's such a fun and unique addition to the bottoms, plus adds a fun element of color blocking. These two patterns are going to be favorites in our house for years (now my youngest is asking if she fits on the size chart...).
