My 1st rashguard ever and its an amazing fit! I like how it can be worn as a a rashguard or a cute workout top. Made my 1st one as a crop, will have to try the colorblock version soon.
I’ve made three Waimea tops for my recent trip to Mexico. The long sleeve top was perfect for my friend’s scuba dive excursion and my short sleeve was perfect to not get sunburned while on a walk along the beach.
Love this pattern! I am 5'11" and ended up lengthening arms by 1.5 inches. I chose not to lengthen the torso because I wanted it to sit a little higher. Turned out great!

Chose the cap sleeves version with swim fabric and it fit perfect. Wore it over a regular swim bikini top...tested in the pool lap swimming and it worked - and has lasted over 5 hours of lap swimming...I used a regular sewing machine and zig-zag stitch. Very happy :) Thank you! Now I know the stitches last I may try a swimsuit next!
Great fit! I often have to adjust arms wider but this pattern was perfect for me.
This pattern is so versatile! It took me a long time to realise this, but it's actually perfect for everyday fitted long sleeve shirts and t-shirts. The dart on the shoulder produces such a neat fit, the raglan seams sit in just the right spot. When I use a drapey tencel knit I don't even have to size up, it is nicely fitted but not too tight at all. I just widened the neckline because it is very high.
Made it for my daughter using her measurements. She is out of state, so sent her a muslin. Fits perfectly, and she loves it. Thankful for patterns that are easy to follow, and that actually fit the measurements given.

Raglan styles are always hit and miss for me, and this top is definitely a hit! The dart at the top of the sleeves provides a great fit around the shoulder and neck. I made the long sleeve version and it is perfect for sun protection at the beach and will also make a great fall running top.
This can be made as a simple top/ rash guard or fun details to give it mega cool details. Love this and have made many and friends are asking for them as well as it is almost always sunny here
My daughter and I both love the crop version of the rashguard, but I prefer the long sleeves and she likes the cap sleeves. I wear mine swimming, and it stays in place and I don’t need to readjust it. It is an extremely quick sew, and the dart at the shoulders isn’t hard to do but helps give it a better fit. With all the different options for shirt length and sleeve length, the combinations are endless!
We have been experimenting with different swimsuit designs this year and my daughter absolutely loves this rashguard. There are so many options included in the pattern that I know we will be making it for years. Assembly was simple and all the pieces go together well. We are very happy with our little swim capsule we've made with this and the Waimea Bottoms.
