Fabulous fit

I love the way this fits like store bought leggings. They are true to size. I used my exact measurements and it fits well. I love the pockets!!!! I wish that I had made the elastic at the waist an inch smaller.

Pockets!

Love the super G tights for my compression leggings made with AKUC. As always, the instructions were easy to follow

This is a good basic pattern for the style of legging we all love.

The long gusset is amazingly comfortable. My only gripe is the waistband is sized too large relative to the hips, and just pulls downwards when exercising/wearing. This happened with the pair I made for me and another size for a friend. I am going to adjust the rise and use the angled waistband I love from the Cavallo pattern.

I like Greenstyles patterns because it is easy to follow and to sew.

Loving the Super G's

I made my first pair and had to blend three sizes. They fit beautifully and the long gusset is movement heaven. Excellent pattern, easy to follow, a breeze to sew up.

The best fit

It’s been impossible for me to find RTW running or training tights with good fit, and this was the first time I found the confidence to try to make them myself. The Super G tights really exceeded my expectations, and I managed to find the perfect fit at the first try (waist F, hip F/G, thigh F, calf E). I made a toile using swimwear lycra, and another pair in heavy weight thermal lycra. The instructions were clear and the pattern pieces were easy to trace across sizes. The only thing I was missing were notches in the leg seams as they are very long.

Still my favourite pocket option

The newer patterns like the Cavallos or Sparks with more complex style lines are getting a lot of love these days, but I still prefer the straight clean lines of these side panels. The long gusset is a cool visual idea as well as a functional design element, and it's not as complicated to sew as one might think. The position of the pockets is perfect, my phone doesn't budge when I'm running.

Sizing is a bit off...

I love the pants, but they measurements/sizing don’t reflect your actual size. Had to go up a whole size and do some hacking to make it fit.

With every athletic legging pattern I've tried, I have to do some weird adjustment to the crotch, but not to these! That calf-to-calf gusset is the greatest thing ever and makes movement so easy. I have made so many pairs of these, and I love the fit every time! The waistband is super flattering, too!

Sewing with Sarah has a video tutorial for these which was super helpful. It's a simple pattern even for a beginner and comes together in a few hours. I made shorts as my muslin and they are my new favorites for yoga!

I don't have a serger but had no problem using zigzag (lightning) stitch + my walking foot. I finished seams (the ones I could reach, the inseam is tricky) with a 3-step zigzag stitch which looks great (in my opinion).

I'm 5'1", waist 29" hips 42". I went with size large & 26" inseam, no pocket, high-rise waist. (I like the waist a little looser so I didn't grade from M to L.) Bought the fabric from Greenstyle, Flight Supplex which is absolutely dreamy (love the fabric recs on patterns! So helpful). They're perfect!!

The only thing I wasn't sure about was whether or not I should shorten the gusset. Should it be shortened for petites? If so, I'd love some tips! I saw the "lengthen or shorten here" on the pattern but wasn't sure how to use it.

If I make another pair for cycling I'll try the mid-rise waist to give my stomach more space. (The high-rise is great for yoga & hiking but not for being bent over your bike.)

Great pattern!! I'll be making more if these for sure.

great fit and the pocket is huge (which is a MAJOR plus!)

I love having a variety of patterns to use for my leggings, seeing as I wear them almost daily! The long, center gusset is super comfortable, there are a lot of options plus a great fit means the super G's are another winner!

After feeling apprehensive about sewing my own athletic tights I was so excited with how well these turned out. The instructions are clear, the fit is great, and I love the pockets! I was pleasantly surprised at how easy these came together. I certainly won't be going back to store bought leggings - ever!

I wondered if I would like the long gusset but it is really great. I also love having pockets on my leggings!

I LOVE my new workout pants and am pretty sure I wont ever look to another athletic tight pattern for myself. My "muslin" came out PERFECTLY. I love that it is designed for high compression 75% 4-way stretch fabric, because it feels good to workout in and it holds all the lumps and bumps in! I highly recommend the Super G Tights to anyone who enjoys compression leggings that stay up!

After reading all the positive reviews of bloggers and having sewing my own leggings for several years now, I have been really excited to try this pattern. I had some lovely ponte in my stash and cut into it with vigor only to discover that they didn't fit AT ALL. They're so tight, I can barely get them on and they come only about half way up my bum. I thought, ok, maybe my fabric had a less than advertised amount of stretch. I tried it again with a stretchy nylon spandex athletic knit and had the same problem. Overall, I want to love this pattern, but feeling rather discouraged. I have a smaller friend (~ size 4) who was able to (just barely) squeeze into both pairs, so they'll go to her, but I'd like to have some Super G's for me!

Waist 31, Hip 39, Thigh 25 (measurements in inches)
Size made: Med, with a 28 inch inseam and high rise

Admittedly I have large calves and a round booty, so I'll probably need to make full butt adjustment and full calf to most patterns. Any idea what size I should start from though? I kind of feel like I might need to size up one or two sizes.

Super G Tights are just that: SUPER! I didn't think I needed yet another tights pattern but I found out differently. The Super G's are better constructed than any I have ever made. The side panels are great for blocking fabric choices and the gusset adds to the flexibility of the tights. And, I like that there are options for different lengths marked on the pattern pieces. Oh, don't forget about that clever little side pocket that is big enough for your cell phone. I think this pattern is one of the best drafted tights patterns I own.
