Greenstyle's annual Fit Capsule Challenge starts today!! This is a fun tradition here at Greenstyle, where we sew a mini fitness capsule each year. Want to join the challenge? This is the post with all the details you need.
What is a Fit Capsule?
A capsule wardrobe is a group of clothing items that coordinate and can be mixed and matched together to create a variety of looks. A fit capsule is a type of mini capsule that deals only with your fitness or activewear clothing.
This can be very specific to your lifestyle and what you consider to be active. For example, if you lived in a cold area and stayed active by taking walks outdoors, you would need a very different fit capsule than someone who stayed active by swimming. Whatever it is that you do to stay fit and healthy, this is a time to plan a set of clothes around that activity that you can easily mix and match well together. This really helps take some of the guess work out of getting dressed to stay fit.
There are many ways to execute a capsule, but since we want to keep things simple (and fun!), our challenge to YOU is to sew up a group of THREE (or more) items that are missing in your athletic wardrobe, using Greenstyle patterns. You can do this by starting fresh with a new color palette and fabric or by analyzing what you already have and adding quality, versatile pieces to that.
How Do I Join?
The Challenge will all take place in our Facebook group over the next month (from 2/15/21 to 3/13/21), where we will be on hand to encourage you as we offer weekly prizes for planning, sewing and sharing. Each Monday morning at 8 am, one of the admins of the Greenstyle Facebook group will put up a challenge with that week's activities and chance to win a prize for that week from one of our sponsors.
On the fourth and final week, not only will have some new athletic items added to your wardrobe, you will be able to enter in to win our grand prize, which includes a Juki Coverstitch!!!
The contest is not limited to US residents but is open to entries from across the globe. We have some awesome sponsors from the US, UK, Canada, and Australia!
Getting Started
Wondering how to get started? There are a few ways you can approach this, but one way to start is to take a look through your current athletic wardrobe, identify what's missing, and make a list of the items you need. You can also think about organizing your capsule around a season, a color, or a key item you already own (like your shoes!) and want to make more items to coordinate with.

Our first prize will be for simply planning your wardrobe, because every fitness guru knows that the best way to get into a routine (fitness OR sewing!) is to take baby steps toward your goal.

Sew Along Help
